Get involved!
Our troops need your support
Make your own commitment to ensure that active-duty military and their units, and post-9/11 veterans and their families get the services they need.
Our troops need your help
Bonds of Courage is always looking for volunteers who can lend their talents to our cause. Volunteer today!
We are dedicated to you
If you are in the military, are a transitioning veteran in the post-9/11 era, or a member of a military family and would like to request support for any life issue or concern, please contact us.
In 1984 the Federal Government designated the Friday before Mothers Day as Military Spouse Appreciation Day. At Bonds of Courage, we honor the significant contributions, support and sacrifices made each day by the spouses of our armed forces. They are our heroes on the home front who maintain their family unit for months at a time while their troop member is defending our country abroad. These members of our communities deserve our support, appreciation and, most of all, our thanks.
At Bonds of Courage we proudly affirm – From oath to home, you are not alone. On Friday, May 10th, we say “Thank You” to all Military Spouses and we remind the community that this is a day for all of us to support our troops by thanking the military spouses left at home.

My name is Spc. Keith Carter and I am a soldier assigned to 1 87 infantry regiment 10 mountain division. We are currently deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months. When we moved into our tents on our fob the first box of mail we received as a platoon was from your organization. Those care packages truly lifted the spirits of my fellow soldiers and myself. The letters from the kids were touching and very motivating. On the behalf of my unit I would like to thank them all and your wonderful organization. “TO THE TOP”

YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan – Federal workers now have a convenient way to calculate their loss in pay if planned furloughs of about 800,000 Defense Department civilians take effect.
Yokosuka Naval Base has posted a furlough pay calculator in spreadsheet format, which is also available through the Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka Facebook page.
The spreadsheet allows federal workers to plug in their hourly pay wage, along with several possible deductions. It automatically calculates the expected 20 percent pay cut they will absorb….
“Keep in mind that is not an official pay scale and only estimates how much your pay will change,” according to a base statement announcing the spreadsheet. “Also, the furlough is not set and may not happen.”
